Books From Wise Women

These women still make an impact. Their testimony of the Lord Jesus Christ and his work in their lives is such a witness to me. John 12:3 tells the story of Mary of Bethany. “  Mary therefore took a pound of expensive ointment made from pure nard, and anointed the feet of Jesus and wiped his feet with her hair. The house was filled with the fragrance of the perfume.” Mary broke the box of precious ointment and poured it on Jesus’ feet. It was an act of worship. Some in the room thought it to be a waste. Some may have thought that very thing about these precious women. What mattered most was what Jesus thought of her worship. Her act of devotion. Like Mary these ladies poured out their lives for their Lord. They lived lives abandoned of self. They were prepared for the cost of living a life “poured out “for Him. “He that believeth in Me out of him shall flow rivers of living water”(John 7:38 ) Through them many lives were changed and saved for the Kingdom of God.Many lives refreshed by this Living Water. A quote from Oswald Chambers  says” It is not that God makes us beautifully rounded grapes, but that He squeezes the sweetness out of us.” It  challenges me to walk in Christ knowing He is asking “ who is willing to be squeezed & poured out for my glory? He wants all of me. All of you.  Amen. I’m excited to begin reading these new books that arrived today .
 Lord, I am so grateful to have these books filled with wisdom and a knowledge of You. Thank you for each of their lives. That they lived to share all that they knew to be true of the Good Shepherd. Amen.

This is my response to a post on a  Pastor’s page ( his response was he was saddened for his “dismissal “) to his response about the news on Carl Lentz being fired from his position. -Forgive me and I say this with much respect - You are saddened to hear of his “dismissal “?!   Why not call it what it is . I’m saddened that he committed an adulterous relationship .  Aren’t you?  I’m saddened that another marriage has been dreadfully violated. I’m saddened that another man of God ,   fell to the temptations of the flesh . Pride is very subtle.  James 1:4-16 “14 But each person is tempted when he is lured and enticed by HIS OWN DESIRE . 15 Then desire when it has conceived gives birth to sin, and sin when it is fully grown brings forth death. 16 Do not be deceived, my beloved brothers.” I’m saddened for his children.       Isaiah 24:1-23 “1  Look! The L ORD  is about to destroy the earth and make it a vast wasteland. He devastates the surface of the earth and scatters the people. 2  Priests and laypeople, servants and masters, maids and mistresses, buyers and sellers, lenders and borrowers, bankers and debtors--none will be spared. 3  The earth will be completely emptied and looted.
